April 18, 2008 I would like to hear from anyone I was stationed with over the years 1966-1996 Retired CMSgt Daniel DeYoung My E-mail:
dvdeyoung99@yahoo.com
Aug 24, 2007 When was the first promotion to CMSgt made? When was the
first promotion to CMSgt made? The ranks of Senior and Chief
were created in 1958, but when did the first promotions take
place. CMSgt Ted Youwer
USAF Retired My E-mail:tandcy_2@yahoo.com Reply: Ted, the first promotions to
Chief were made on 1 Dec 1959, and the Air Force promoted 625
Senior Master Sergeants to that grade. They later became known
as the Charter Chiefs. All of them were not promoted on 1 Dec.
The remaining selectees were promoted on 1 Jun 1960. Hope that
answers your question. Take care.
Aug 5, 2007 Air Force Chiefs Web Site I appeared
before my chief selection board today and have to thank the chiefs
who have contributed to this incredible web site. I have spent
months preparing for my board, using much of what is on this
web site as a study guide. Many thanks for providing this incredible
resource. My E-mail: smsgtreading@yahoo.com
May 10, 2007 Air Force Chiefs I found your web site today and was very interested as my father was also one of the Charter Chiefs you mention date of rank was Dec. 59. He was in SAC stationed at Ellsworth AFB at the time. He is still with us and, while he does not have a computer, I am going to introduce him to your information. His mailing address is 431 Dogwood Circle, Summerville, SC 29485 and phone: 843 871-0817. We often talk of the old days and I can remember going to work with him, as a child, and playing in the B-36s. I have tried to encourage him to write down some of his memories. Thank you for what you are doing. R/ Buck Wagner
January 5, 2007 I don't play on my computer
very often, but I was very impressed with your website. I have
added it to my favorites list. I retired from Kirtland AFB NM
(1998) and my husband retired from Offutt AFB NE (1991). He served
30 years and I put in 26 years. We both loved our jobs and would
definitely do it again. My husband has Alzheimer's and I do all
the talking now (although if anyone remembers me, I did almost
all the talking before also). Anyway, would enjoy hearing from
anyone who may know us or who may have served with either of
us. Thanks again for your terrific website. CMSgt's Joanne & George Klaus (USAF Ret) My e-mail:mailto:KlausChief1May@centurytel.net |
